What’s one of the things that takes up most of your brain power that has almost zero return on your investment?

Overthinking Everything…

In this day and age Overthinking is becoming an epidemic.
So many people get caught in analyze paralysis today that you want to laugh at it but you can’t because everywhere you look you see it happening.

Have you ever seen someone completely immobilized because they can’t figure out what to do next?

They can’t do anything, they can’t make a move because they are so busy analyzing everything.

If I do this, then this might happen.

If I go here, then this might happen.

If I say this, then this person might get upset or take offense.

If I look at this, then this might happen.

If I talk to this person, then other people might not like me.

If I think this thought, then I might be wrong or make a mistake.

And this list can go on and on…

When I was in the military they taught us this one principle over and over.

It was drilled into our brains.

K.I.S.S.
  • (K)eep
  • (I)t
  • (S)imple
  • (S)tupid

What this means, in a nutshell, is don’t overthink things. Break things down into their most basic forms and deal with them one at a time.

It’s crazy how simple this formula is but its been proven over and over again to work.

Plain and simple it works.

Take the complex and make them into their easiest form. Then piece by piece, work away at your tasks till you have achieved this massive end result.

Anything can be achieved if you take the time to simplify it and then work at it piece by piece until you achieve your goal.

Simplicity is the key to not having to overthink.

So the next time you start to overthink something tell yourself to stop.

Take a deep breath.

Remember K.I.S.S.

Break your goal or task down into its simplest form.

Attack one piece after another till you achieve your goal or complete your task.

That’s it, it’s really that easy.

Keep It Simple Stupid my friends.
