Happy Memorial Day Everyone!!

I know I don't usually publish a new post on Monday but today is a special day and I didn't want it to go by without saying "Thank You" to all of our men and women who serve our country each and every day to protect our Freedoms.

So, with that, I thought I would just publish a little poem I made for Memorial Day.

No, I'm not a poet.

I'm barely a writer most of the time, but I thought I would step outside of my comfort zone a little bit and try it so here it goes.

Upon this hallowed field, I stand alone,

Eyes surveying where fallen heroes have flown,

Memorial Day's embrace, a solemn refrain,

Echoes of valor amidst sorrow's domain.

In battle engaged, courage takes its flight,

Sacrifice etched in shadows, dawning light,

Whispers of the fallen, carried by the breeze,

Their spirits are immortal, guiding with ease.

Amidst the crimson fields, love's silent plea,

For those who fought, for our hearts to be forever free,

With tears unspoken, their memories reside,

In a soldier's eyes, their stories still thrive.

So, let us honor these warriors bold,

Their stories are etched in history, never to be untold,

For they have shown us the actual price of freedom,

Forever remembered, in blood and sacrifice.

Oh, let us remember their valiant plight,

Their selfless courage, a beacon of light,

On this Memorial Day, we stand as one,

United in reverence, till the battle is won.

So there you have it.

I hope it makes sense and brings a little honor and respect to our men and women who keep up the great fight each day.

No matter where you are in the world or what conflict you've fought in I just wanted to say "Thank You" and please know you are "Never Forgotten".
