Why Do We Have Sorrow In Our Lives?

Welcome Back.

Today we will tackle a question we have all asked ourselves at least once, and that question is...

"Why Do We Have Sorrow In Our Lives?"

Let's first start out by defining what sorrow is just in case maybe you aren't aware of what it is or maybe you think you've never had any sorrow in your life up to this point.

Sorrow - a feeling of deep distress caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortunes suffered by oneself.

Usually in life when we have something that doesn't go our way, or we lose someone, or we take a risk and it doesn't pan out for us we have disappointment and sorrow in our lives.

We often ask ourselves the question "Why me?" or "Why is this happening to me?".

We don't understand why this thing couldn't have gone our way or why this was taken away from us when we clearly felt like we needed it or it should be ours.

It's almost like in this day and age people feel like they are "entitled" to have a good and happy life free from any bad things or any sorrow.

But, instead of looking at sorrow as something bad what if you could change the way you look at sorrow a little bit and maybe see how it could help you instead of tear you down?

Two thoughts I want to give you today on how I see sorrow and maybe if you take some time to ponder these two things maybe, just maybe they will help you to see sorrow a little bit differently in the future.

First, what if you looked at sorrow as a tool to help you remember?

  • To remember lessons you've learned in life.
  • To remember how far you've come in life.
  • To remember all of the things you've already overcome in life.
  • To remember all of the things you do have instead of the things you lost.
  • To remember the risks you have taken that have worked out for you.
  • To remember how strong you are and the things that continue to make you stronger every day.

Secondly, what if you are given sorrow to help refine you as person?

  • What if you've been given this sorrow to remind you of who you really are?
  • What if you've been given this sorrow to remember the thing that you've lost?
  • What if you've been given this sorrow to make you a better and stronger person?

I'm not going to tell you that sorrow is easy and something fun that we should all enjoy in our lives because we all know that is just a straight-up lie.

But, I do hope that by taking your time to read through this you might have a few different ways of how to look at sorrow in your current life or the next time sorrow rears its not-so-pleasant head in your life.

A lot of life is about perspective and how we perceive things in life.

You can always choose to see things as a trial and tribulation, or you can choose to see how maybe, just maybe, this could help you in some way and make you a little bit better person.

As always the choice is yours.

So the next time you're faced with sorrow let me know below which way you choose to go.

I'd be interested to hear your story about sorrow and what you choose to do with it.
