5 of My Favorite Posts from a "Disruptive Thinker". (James Altucher)

James Altucher is one of the people I am working to build a relationship with and to help in 2015.

I thought it would only be fitting to share with everyone (5) of my favorite "Disruptive" post that James has written.

If you never heard of James this will be a good introduction to him and to his work.

If you have heard of James then I am sure I don't need to tell you what a creative and disruptive thinker he is.  I like how his mind works and I like how he lays himself out there in front of everyone and isn't afraid to admit he's made some mistakes in life.  Haven't we all.

  1. The Ultimate Cheat Sheet to Starting and Running Your Own Business.  This is a great post for anyone who has ever wanted to or has started their own business.  In James fashion he gets right to the heart of the questions and tells you the answers straight.  Also in his same fashion he does it with some humor along the way and who doesn't love a little humor when  you talking about business?
  2. The Ultimate Cheat Sheet for Investing All of Your Money.  His ideas are open and honest as is the standard with James. He tells you like it is. He's not going to tell you what you want to hear, but take it from a guy who's probably lost more money then you will ever make in your lifetime this is something you should definitely ponder.
  3. 10 Things You Need to Know to Be A Great Leader.  I particularly enjoyed the points James made about the "Saying No" and "Leading Yourself".  I think the power of the word "No" is greatly overlooked in our world today.  I think it's something we all need to work on if we ever hope to accomplish our goals and our dreams.  Otherwise we will all fall pray to the "Shiny Object Syndrome" that John Lee Dumas from Entrepreneur on Fire is always talking about.  If we don't have laser like focus (And "Yes" John Lee Dumas if you are reading this I know you have your own meaning for "FOCUS". So please leave a comment to this post and spell out how you define FOCUS for everyone. That's a total opportunity for you John. I hope you'll take me up on the offer.) especially in this day and age we will surely loose our way and never get anything accomplished.
  4. The Idea Matrix.  This is one of the core principles that James talks about in his book Choose Yourself!.  This is one of my favorite books I read in 2014.  Read this post to get a good idea about what the Idea Matrix is and how it works but you if your really want to get an in depth understanding of it you should pick up the book Choose Yourself. (A little side note for you... If you read books on a Kindle or through the Kindle app its only .99 cents for the book.)  It's a steal.
  5. 7 Things happen to You When You are Completely Honest.  This has a lot of great information packed into this post.  I like how James breaks it down as to how people will see you differently when you decide you want to be completely "Honest" in life.  I also think one of the reason I like this post so much is because James just doesn't say this, he does it and in this day and age that is a very rare quality.
  6. (Bonus - Just because I like to give your more than promised.) The 100 Rules for Being an Entrepreneur.   This is truly just so full of information I can't do it justice by trying to break it down.  If you have 5 minutes read it, it will be time well spent.
Lastly I like to close out and just say "Thank You" to James for all he's done not just for me but for everyone he touches through his work.

His way of thinking and his insights into things are not only refreshing but also insightful.

Keep up the great work James!!
