How To End Doubt In Your Life

“Last night I went where dreams go to die…” — Jamey Jasta

Do you know where that place is?

Do you know what I’m talking about?
It’s that place called the dream graveyard. That place where everything you always wanted to do is piled up and rotting away.

It’s that place you don’t like to think about, let alone go for a visit.

It’s that place that brings a tear to your eye and a sniffle to your nose when you think about everything you could have done in life.

Do you think your alone when it comes to feeling doubt?

Below is a quick list of some of the other people in the world you might know who have also felt doubt at one time or another in their life. Maybe you know a few of these people.

  • Richard Branson
  • Elon Musk
  • Bill Gates
  • Stephen King
  • Donald Trump
  • Kim Kardashian
  • Michael Jordan
  • Beyonce
  • Jay-Z
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Halle Berry

Let me let you in on a little secret… The list goes on and on because everyone at some time in their life has suffered from doubt.

There are two things that kill our dreams in life.

Do you want to know what they are?

  • It’s not where you were born.
  • It’s not who you were born too.
  • It’s not whether you were raised in a trailer home or a house.
  • It’s not if your family was rich or poor.
  • It’s not if you had an entrepreneur for a dad and a Fortune 5 CEO mom as your parents.
  • It’s not if went to Harvard or didn’t even finish high school.
  • And the list could go on and on forever. If you want an excuse you can always find one right.

What it really comes down to is these two things.

  1. Doubt
  2. Not Taking Action

(Let’s take a look at number one. Seeing as how I’ve already covered number two in another post and I’m sure you already know how I feel about Taking Action to change your life.)

Self Doubt is probably the worst kind of doubt there is. Period.

  • When one doubts themselves they aren’t willing to make any decisions in their life.
  • They aren’t willing to take any action for fear that they will be wrong or that they are going to make a mistake.
  • They have this endless loop conversation that keeps playing in their heads that tells them they aren’t good enough, or educated enough, or beautiful enough, or a million other negative things we as people can think of to hold ourselves down.

Doubt is a demon that creeps into our minds ever so quietly and then sits in the dark back corner just waiting for us to notice it.

Then when we notice it, it’s like seeing a train wreck you can’t help but notice it every time after that.

Doubt eats away at your resolve. It keeps eating away until you become weak and then you give in.

Once you give in to doubt whatever you are doubting is doomed to fail. Once you start to doubt that thing there isn’t really any coming back.

It will consume your every thought, it will be everywhere you look. You won’t be able to escape it once you allow it in.

But with that being said there were two quotes that someone told me once about doubt and it has always stuck with me.

When I even start to think about doubting myself or something I’m doing I think of these quotes.

(Just to let you know I think about these quotes so often it is almost like breathing to me. I even think about doubt and these two quote comes to my mind. It’s like its an automatic reflex now.)

The quotes are:

“Everyone in your life is going to doubt something about you, so don’t you ever doubt yourself.”

“There is enough doubt in this world already without you doubting yourself.”

There is no room in your life for doubting yourself. Period.

Now I know there are probably a bunch of people reading this right now that say “Come on… If you don’t doubt some of the things you do in life won't that make you arrogant or full of yourself?”

My answer to them has always been this:

  • What is the ROI (Return On Investment) in me doubting myself?
  • What good is it going to do to doubt me?
  • Is it worth any energy on my part to doubt myself?

If the first quote is even remotely correct or true then won't other people (more like everyone in your life) constantly be keeping you in check?

So Quite Doubting Yourself!!

If you want something in life Go Get It!!

Stand up and TAKE some ACTION!!

Leave the doubting up to other people. They are going to doubt you and judge you no matter what you do in life so accept that.

But also accept that you don’t ever need to doubt yourself again.

Take that doubt demon out of the dark corner of your mind and put it in a cage out in the light where you can see it.

Because when you can see things and acknowledge things in life, then you’ve taken back control of your life.

Don’t let doubt rule you.

Don’t let doubt be the thing that keeps you down.

Decide today in your mind and strive to implement in your own life that doubt doesn’t have a place with you anymore.

It’s time for doubt to go, so show it the way out of your life.

Once and for all Good Bye Doubt!!
