Today I want to talk with guys about a topic that I think is going to have a big impact on a lot of people in the very near future.
It's the topic of "Starting Over".
Not necessarily from scratch, but still starting over none the less.
I think that with the current pandemic and COVID-19 going on in the world today that many people have lost their jobs and are going to have to start over again once this all has been cleaned up. (or, as many have said maybe there will just be a new normal.)
Either way, there are going to be a lot of people who are going to have to start over.
Whether that is:
- Having to find a new job or work because they were let go during the pandemic.
- Maybe they won't even be able to find work in the same field they were in before the pandemic and have to go to a new job field altogether.
- Maybe their savings are now gone.
- Maybe they have gone on unemployment for the first time in their life and have to find ways to start bringing money back into their lives and their families.
- Maybe their spouse left them during the pandemic.
- Maybe their family left them during the pandemic.
There could be any number of things that can happen to people but I think you get my point.
There are going to be a lot of people who are going to have to start over.
But is that a bad thing?
Most will see it as a bad thing. Most will dwell on everything they feel they have lost or blame others for taking what little they felt they had before away from them.
But is that the answer?
How does that help you? or anyone for that matter?
IT DOESN'T HELP YOU OR ANYONE AT ALL!!
So make a promise to yourself right now that you're not going to do that.
That instead you're going to believe in yourself and know that you've made it this far in life and if you made it this far you can make it to tomorrow, and then the day after tomorrow, then the day after that.
Nothing wrong with taking it day by day for a while till you can start seeing things get better.
There was a saying I once heard and I think it holds very true in this situation...
"You can either make money, or you can make excuses, but you can't make them both at the same time."
(Of course, you can substitute any word you want for "money" in the quote above and it will 90% of the time be true.)
So stop and think about that for a minute...
How easy is it to make excuses?
So very easy.
We have a society today that thrives off of excuses and feeling like society or the government, or other people owe them something.
That they should be taken care of, that all of their needs should be met.
But, is that really the truth?
No, it isn't and I think most people deep down know that's not the truth even though they are too scared to dare to say anything against the common narrative today.
You aren't owed anything, from anyone.
Did you just read what I wrote?
Let me say it again so it sinks in...
You aren't owed anything, from anyone.
So while this pandemic and COVID-19 sucks and while you might have been dealt a blow because of it don't start degrading and dishonoring yourself by making a bunch of excuses and blaming everyone else for your problem.
Instead, tomorrow get up, look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself today you're going to do anything you can to change your circumstances and/or your situation.
Don't start your day by making a bunch of excuses and letting that be your out.
Get up, Stand up, Go to that mirror, and tell yourself today I'm going to do anything I can to change my situation.
I'm going to reach out for more jobs, I'm going to learn something new that can help me, I'm going to network with people who might have job openings, I'm going take care of myself so I am ready and able to work once I do find something, I'm going to stop making excuses and I'm going to stop being a victim and I am going to make my own way today.
This day doesn't run me, I own and I decide how my day will go.
Take some ownership in yourself and believe in yourself.
Because if you don't believe in yourself why would anyone else believe in you either?
You aren't owed anything in this life.
So, if you want something you have to go and get it.
No more excuses, leave those for the other people because they aren't what you need anymore.
Decide to make a change, and then Take Action to make it happen.
It's really that simple my friends.
