Go Towards The Light...

I had someone the other day say to me...

"It's way too early in the morning to be so positive how and why do you do it?"

That's what I want to talk to you guys about today.

I really think it is just a simple mindset change, but as we know just because something is "simple" doesn't necessarily mean it will be "easy".

So if you're looking for an easy fix today of if you're reading this and already thinking to yourself...

"Oh great, here we go again." Or "Really... I don't see any real value in being positive, being positive isn't really realistic."

Then you can stop reading this right now and I'll save you the time and energy it will take to read the rest of this because believe me if that's how you're thinking right now then this post is not for you.

If you're still here, then let's continue.

I think so many people today are just tired of their lives and tired of their life.

I think a lot of people today are just walking around and are already dead on the inside.

The sad thing is most people today don't even stop long enough to look inside themselves to see "why" they are tired or "why" they are dead on the inside.

Because as we all know if we stop and look inside of ourselves that is when all the scary things we don't like to think about come around.

It's like walking by the dark alley at midnight and looking down it and seeing those thugs standing around talking and all of sudden they stop talking and look at you.  Then they start walking towards you and you think to yourself I better get out of here before this gets even worse. So you run away and you don't stop running till you get to that nice safe "comfort zone" place you call home.

(Yeah that was a tech joke. If you got the joke please leave me a comment below and let me know you got it.)

Okay back on task here...

So many people are looking for that "positive" in life.

They are looking for that motivation to keep them going throughout their day, to keep them pushing forward.

They are looking for any inspiration to rejuvenate their soul.

So they find people or things they can attach to so they can suck a little bit of positivity out of those people or things to get their fix for the day and then they try to get by until they need their next fix.

I know right now you're thinking come on you make it sound like I'm addicted to drugs or something.

Are you?

Are you addicted to the positivity drug that other people supply for you?

Yeah, I know no one likes to think they are an addict.

No one wants to say out loud "I'm an addict".

The truth of the matter is... You are an addict.

But, do you have to be?

No, you don't have to be, but you are going to have to make a "Choice" not to be an addict.

Do you know what choice you need to make to break this positivity addiction you have?

Do you want me to tell you the secret?

One day I decided to stop looking for positivity and taking it from others, and I decided to start finding the positivity within myself.

There was a quote I read recently and I think it sums it up pretty well.  The quote said:

"Stop seeking the light, and become the light instead."

I think that quote is simple but I think it is very insightful.

Look inside yourself, spend some time with yourself and figure out what motivates you, what makes you want to push forward each day.

Maybe, just maybe, you find that those thugs who were standing at the end of the alleyway who started walking towards you were your friends and not the thugs you thought they were.

Those are the things that are important to find and discover within yourself.

Then if you choose to share that light or positivity with others that is your choice, but at least you yourself don't need to go seeking that from anyone else anymore, you have it right inside of you any time you need it.

Remember...

"Stop seeking the light, and become the light instead."

*If you know other people that might have the same addiction as us then please feel free to send them the link to this post and encourage them to give it a read. Hopefully, it will help them as much as it has helped us.
