- Start utilizing every last function you can out of your current technology, and find ways to integrate those functions into your current workflow. Either make your current workflows better or scrap the workflow and start over. Don't keep doing something just because "This is the way we've always done it here".
- Stand up and be LEADER!! If that is your position then make Leadership and ACTION word, not just a title.
- Get out in the hospital and talk to the "Real" people. The one's cleaning up the rooms, the ones making the food in the cafeteria, the ones changing out the light bulds, the real people in your organization that keep it running day in and day out. Those are the people who have a feel for the pulse of your organization. Not the other "O" sitting next to you at the boardroom table.
- If you want to make a "Change" at your hospital it first has to start with your "Vision". Change starts at the top and starts with "You". So own it, be very clear about your vision, and then put plans in place to make it happen. Last but not least once your plan is made "Take Action" to make it happen. Healthcare as a business isn't for the weak...
