Dressing For Success Is Easy. (Here's The Secret.)

As we were reading along in the book this week we came across something we wanted to discuss with you.

It's the notion of how you dress.

We know there are many philosophies when it comes to how people think they should dress for business.

Some people think three-piece suits every day are the way to go, others think jeans and t-shirts are the way to go.

So which way is right?

Here is what Gene Simmons has to say:

"If you want to get ahead at work, dress like your boss.  Dress for the job you want.  If you work on Wall Street, you boss likely wears a suit and tie, so you need to be wearing a suit and tie, whether you feel like it or not."

As Gene pointed out in its simplest form "Dress like your boss".

So if your boss wears a three-piece suit, you wear a three-piece suit.

If you boss wears jeans, t-shirts, and loafers to work then you wear the same.

It's not really that hard and its a good rule to follow.

What this is actually doing for you is that shows your boss that you're paying attention to them and learning from them.

It also shows them that you want to be part of their team.

Demonstrates to them that you want to do what they do and be where they are.

It is a subtle form of flattery, and also showing them that you have what it takes to be at their level.

A lot of these things are non-verbal communications with your boss, and on a sub-conscience level, they recognize the things we mentioned above.

This lesson today isn't really rocket science my friends, but if you try it out we guarantee you will see a difference in the way your boss looks at you and they way he sees you in the company.

So try it for 30 days and let us know how it goes for you.  Please leave your comments below.
