I read this quote (by Gil Bailie) recently in a book I just finished and I wanted to share it with you guys today and get your thoughts on it.
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
I think why this probably struck me so much is because of a tweet I just recently posted on Twitter. (I'll post it below so you can see what I'm talking about.)
In my tweet, I was trying to make people aware of something that I've been noticing for a while now.
But I think Gil might have just provided us the answer or solution to my tweet.
Why do you think it is that so many people today are walking around already dead in their lives?
Do you think it is because of boredom?
Do you think it's because they don't have any goals or things they are striving towards any more in their lives?
Do you think it's because they are so busy doing what they think is expected of them that now it's just a habit and they can't seem to find their way out?
Do you think it's because they have just beaten themselves down so much mentally and others have helped beat them down that now they do think or feel they have any other choice?
I'm not sure what the problem is and it may be different for different people, but what do you think about Gil's idea?
Is that something you think you could do? something you could try?
Do you think it would help?
Do you think you've got enough grit and internal strength to break free from your boredom, your numbed mind, your worker ant-like life to try something different or new?
If so then maybe you have what it takes to try what Gil mentioned above.
I mean honestly... It could really only make your life better so why not give it a try?
Leave me a comment below and let me know what makes "You Come Alive" I'd love to hear about it.
